Gabriel has been an artist in some capacity all his life. He completed his Bachelor of Arts at The Evergreen State College in 2009, followed by a few years working in environmental conservation in and around the south Puget Sound region of Washington state. But it was his subsequent return to school to study graphic design and printmaking at Portland Community College (2012-2015) that kindled his love of intaglio and medieval wood-block printing styles and reignited his desire to pursue the arts professionally.
In the spring of 2015 he moved to Salt Lake City to pursue a career in art and printing. He worked there for four years as a pressman at The Mandate Press, operating antique Heidelberg letterpress machinery, all the while developing his illustrative art style with personal and commissioned pieces and projects.
From Utah he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he spent a few more years working in screen-printing at A Small Print Shop and freelancing, doing numerous illustration and design commissions for bands, businesses, and individual clients.
Now Gabriel is back living in his hometown of Portland, Oregon, and continues to run his freelance art business: here taking on the occasional commission, there going on the road to sell his merchandise at art markets and conventions. He continues to hone his craft and sharpen his artistic abilities.
