Western-style Saddle with details of Appalachian wildlife, flora & fauna. llustration (and typography) for Saddle of Southern Darkness from Louisville, KY.
In the leather-stamping on the various saddle parts can be seen the following imagery:
- Seat jockey: Cottonmouth snake among blackberry vines.
- Back housing and skirt: More flowering blackberries and thistle.
- Cantle: Oak leaves and acorns.
- Fender: Cardinals and Goldenrod (State bird and flower, respectively, of Kentucky).
